Staff Update: A Fond (and Sad) Farewell

Forest Park ConservancyUncategorized

Next month, we say goodbye to our wonderful Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator, Guy Maguire, who will be moving to Vermont with his partner. To say that Guy will be missed is an understatement. In the year he’s been on staff, FPC has increased the number of volunteers involved, improved our training program, and expanded the number of community and corporate groups that come out to restore Forest Park.

Guy brought a deep commitment to the environment and Forest Park to his work. While our work is important to the health of the region, Guy always brought his great sense of humor to make volunteering lots of fun.

And boy did Guy get a lot done over the past year!  More than 1,500 volunteers will work in the park this year – a 30% increase over last year. Our Volunteer Crew Leader program is stronger and our Discovery Hikes program is stronger than ever. FPC is grateful for many ways Guy strengthened our volunteer and outreach program. He will be missed!

On behalf of the board, staff and all of our volunteers, I wish Guy all the best on his next adventure. If you want to send him a note, email him at Guy@forestparkconservancy.org
