Getting Ready for Hiking Season!

Forest Park ConservancyUncategorized

Get ready for prime trail season in Forest Park! This an amazing place to discover nature and outdoor recreation located so close to downtown Portland requires maintenance throughout the year. With 80 miles of trails to explore in Forest Park, keeping the trails enjoyable and safe is always our top priority.

The Forest Park Conservancy maintains and improves the trails throughout the year. The coming months are no exception. We’ll be focusing on making sure trails like the Wildwood, the most visited trail in the park, are in great condition.

There are many ways you can help support FPC’s trail work: We’re always looking for volunteers, and if you can’t join us for one of our many work party opportunities, please consider making a donation instead. We rely on support from Forest Park fans like you to accomplish the many trail improvement projects we have going on this season, including:

February – March:

Trail improvements and maintenance on Wildwood South of Springville Rd.

March – August:

Wildwood Mile 4.8 – 5.5 (Cornell Rd. to Stone House)

Wildwood Mile 16 – 17 (Saltzman Rd. to North of Firelane 5)

June – July:

Clearing 47 miles of trail of spring growth

If you’d like to volunteer, no previous experience is necessary, and we’ll provide all the training and tools you’ll need. Check out the schedule here:www.forestparkconservancy.org/calendar or pledge a donation to support FPC trail work. Thank you for all your support. We can’t protect and restore Forest Park without you.
