Rapid Response Training, September 3rd
Capacity: 25 (100% booked)
Forest Park's more than 80 miles of trail, 47 miles of soft-surface trail, and more than 5,200 acres of forest require constant monitoring, and that means we need a team of volunteers to venture out into the forest, regularly reporting on the health of the trail network and forest by hiking and running the trails throughout the year. As the "eyes and ears" of our organization, you'll be able to help protect the forest, reporting to provide valuable information about forest conditions, which will help shape future restoration efforts.
If you're interested in learning how to properly identify a myriad of invasive species and are interested in ensuring the continuing stewardship and health of Forest Park, sign up to join our this Early Detection and Rapid Response (EDRR) Training! We'll teach you the best way to respond to invasive species and problems on the trails, whether reporting a downed tree or managing a break in the trail.
When: Tuesday, September 3rd, 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Where: Forest Park Conservancy's Office, 833 SW 11th Suite 800 Portland, OR, 97205. We are located on the 8th floor of the building, and while there is limited unmetered parking, the office has excellent access for public transit.
Snacks and drinks will be provided for all participants!
If you have any questions regarding this training please email our volunteer and outreach coordinator, Zac Peal.
