"I just wanted to say thanks for organizing these hikes and to say we deeply enjoyed the hike to the old growth last weekend. We have looked at the forest on our own acreage with greater knowledge after the hike"

Volunteer Tree Planting Event at Newton Road (1/17/09)

Join the Forest Park Conservancy for another volunteer tree planting event. This time around, we are partnering with Friends of Trees and Portland Parks to plant native trees and shrubs at Newton Road (follow link for driving directions). As always, we will plant rain or shine (or snow?). There is no such thing as bad weather - only inappropriate clothing. In addition to dressing for the elements, please bring work gloves and a full water bottle. We have Stumptown Coffee and some energy-laden snacks for you to enjoy. We will also be raffling off some goodies, including Forest Park map sets. Hope you can join us.
