Wanted: Volunteer Crew Leaders!

Forest Park ConservancyUncategorized

Volunteer Crew Leaders, or VCLs, are the backbone of our volunteer program in the park. They provide support to help manage the nearly 1,000 volunteers who join our work parties throughout the year to restore habitat and repair trails in Forest Park. VCLs help with everything from setting up work parties to ensuring quality control at our project sites to leading small groups on the trails. VCLs make it possible for the Forest Park Conservancy to coordinate hundreds of work parties each year.

On Saturday, May 14th from 9AM – 2PM the Forest Park Conservancy will be hosting our annual Volunteer Crew Leader Training: Trails Edition
This training will focus on trail work and will include both indoor classroom and field work to ensure new VCLs have the knowledge they need to be a Crew Leader. If you are currently a Volunteer Crew Leader, you’re welcome to retake the course to keep up to date on our trail work practices and learn new ways you can help out.

After the training, Volunteer Crew Leaders agree to help lead 3 events per year. Each Volunteer Crew Leader will receive an FPC Crew Leader hat and a training manual.
