Weekday Opportunities

When: Each Thursday at 8:30 am

Where: Lower Macleay Park (to generate directions using google maps, click here)

What: Join Jeff Hough, our Trails & Restoration manager for a morning (or full day if you are really gung ho) of various projects in Forest Park. At times, you may be clearing down wood, restoring washed out trails, planting native shrubs, building a bridge, or perhaps just walking and pruning. If you plan on attending, let Jeff know.

Volunteer Work Parties

When: the third Saturday of each month, 9 am to noon.

Where: Meeting location varies - clink on the event for more information, or e-mail us for more details.

Friends of Forest Park has long had an active crew of volunteers working the trails of Forest Park. In 2007, we started a new tradition of offering regular events for members, Forest Park users, and other volunteer enthusiasts.

A typical day involves some routine maintenance, along with small construction projects: building bridges, installing culverts and/or turnpikes, etc. We always have refreshments on hand and raffle off a few prizes (including a free pair of KEEN shoes) at the end of each event.

For more information on any of these events, send an e-mail to trails@friendsofforestpark.org
