Plone Help
Plone is a content management system, which is to say, a method for storing, sorting, retrieving and displaying multimedia on the internet. It is a powerful system, but also one that scales very well to what an individual needs to accomplish. To that end, this help document goes from the most basic concepts and tasks, to the more advanced.
Note: Most of these links go to a new resource that One/Northwest is developing. Learnplone.org has not been publicly launched, so not everything works as it should yet.
A great place to begin is the Plone Quick Start. It takes about 30 minutes to go through, but gives you most of the content editing skills you need. In the Quick Start you'll find how to:
- Identify the sections of your website
- Edit an existing page
- Create hyperlinks and Email links
- Place images on a page
Once you've mastered those tasks, and you've been given the responsibility, you're ready for these more advanced functions:
- Adding a new webpage
- Uploading images into Plone
- Creating a news item (video)
- Creating an event (video)
